Motorcycle Training

The Standards we set for our Authorised Distributors of retail insurance products.

Before Authorised Distributors are appointed to distribute our products, we provide them with product and compliance related training so they can provide their services competently and deal with customers in a professional and ethical manner. There are three training modules and assessments that must be completed: On Road Motorcycle Product Training, Off Road Motorcycle Product Training and Compliance Training. On successful completion of these modules, you will be appointed as an Authorised Distributor for NM Insurance.

After appointment please remember that you must always follow the sales procedures and guidelines provided to you. Failure to do so may result in termination of your appointment.

In particular, to comply with the law:

  • Remember that the Sales Process can ONLY begin when a customer commits to buying or financing a motorcycle.
  • Always either get a customer's consent to provide them with a Financial Services Guide and Product Disclosure Statement by email with hyperlinks, or provide them with hard copies.
  • Only give factual information about insurance and not financial product advice
  • Always read a consumer notice and privacy collection notice to all customers before collecting any information from them.
  • Only sell insurance to someone who is in the relevant target market for the product.
